2020 Busy despite Covid!

Trashman Clearance was established in 2019 with the aim of bringing a sustainable approach to house clearance and waste removal. Despite the challenges of 2020 and COVID 19 restrictions we have managed to steadily grow the business and stay true to our original goals.

Since January we have worked with over 50 clients each with a different set of requirements, from preparation for a house move, downsizing for retirement, full service deceased estate clearance, decluttering unwanted stuff that is filling their homes, gardens, sheds, garages and lofts to just removing unwanted waste.

In addition to these clearance activities, we have also carried out work for clients including garden redesign, laying new flagstones to make it safer for an elderly client to get around her garden, and renovation of an old shed for a local housing association.

Over the year we have worked hard to reduce waste that would have gone to landfill and have sold unwanted furniture to be upcycled or reused, returning some financial value for our clients, or where they prefer, we have donated items and sales proceeds to local and national charities on their behalf. We advertise all of our items online and have sold to customers across the local and national marketplace, we are now building a contact list of customers who will provide us with potential outlets for items as we move forward into 2021.

All waste that we cannot reuse is processed and over the year we have sorted over 15 tonnes of wood, cardboard, plastic, glass and hardcore rubble which has all been recycled, we have also processed over 8 tonnes of scrap metal has been sorted for recycling into mixed steel, copper, brass, lead, aluminium, cables, electrical motors, car batteries and stainless steel, including the disposal of two conservatories through a centre that specialises in recycling UPVC windows. Wood that can be salvaged has been reused creating garden planters, log stores, bin and recycling box storage and other items for clients.

We are working to increase our visibility and grow awareness of our business, and utilising local advertising providers such as The Boundary Magazine and The Standbrook Guide where we have regular advertisements in place. You can find us on Facebook, Google and through our website www.trashmanclearance.com and new for the 2020/21 season, we have arranged sponsorship deals with Yate Town Football Club and Chipping Sodbury Rugby Club so, look out for our pitch side advertising boards promoting Trashman Clearance.
